Splenectomy

On November 27th 2018 my spleen was removed due to two BIG cysts on it. I had two procedures to aspirate the cysts but they could only get to one the other was too risky. The procedures did not work, fluid fill the cyst after, so the only thing that could be done was a Splenectomy. This has changed my life forever. Right now I'm healing both physically and mentally. The emotion of the loss of my spleen is like when someone dies. There are stages that one goes through. I'm going through these stages. Before my surgery I could not concentrate so I was only able to do mindless knitting.

First time using Knit Picks Dishie. I love this yarn. So much nicer than Peaches & Crème.

Project Update

Finished  Hermione's Everyday Sock.

They fit great with a little negative ease.

Now on to the next project, which is going to be an the Entrelac Scarf by Allison LoCicero www.frecklesandpurls.com. This will be my first time trying entrelac. Looks easy enough, but we'll see how it goes. I'm excited!

Hermione's Everyday Socks

Two things. #1 it has been so long since my last blog post. I thought I was going to stop posting, truth is I like to document my knitting so here I am again.  #2 It has been way too long since I knitted socks. The last socks I knitted are still waiting for the toe decreases. I was just over the socks so I put them away to be finished later. Well this was almost two years ago. So to get my sock mojo knitting back, I am knitting these socks.

Pattern: Hermione's Everyday Sock
Yarn: Drops Fabel in color 650pl
Needles: US 1 (2.25mm)

The pattern calls for a set of two circular needles but I'm knitting two at a time on DPNs. I just picked up the heel flap stitches. It's a pretty easy knit.
