My last post was back in December 2018. I was still healing from my splenectomy. I'm a little more than five months post. All I can say is that it sucks having no spleen. I got a sinus infection a few weeks after going back to work. I was put on antibiotics for 10 days but about a week after I finished I was feeling bad again. Back on antibiotics this time fourteen days. I had a throat swab and nasal swap. On day four of taking antibiotics the test results showed throat was negative but nasal was positive for Adenovirus. Stop taking antibiotics. Two days later it all went down hill, body aches, fever. I called the doctor and was told to go the ER. Had a bazillion tests done except the one sample they needed I could not give. I was told I had a virus so just let it run is course. I was told that my WBC was up and to follow up with my doctor. In the mean time I was running to the bathroom a lot. After a week of this I called my doctor who sent me to get my blood drawn and have stool tested. At that point I was put on Flagyl. Blood test showed WBC went up RBC went down. A week later the stool result came back positive for C. diff. Flagyl did nothing so I was sent to a GI specialist. I'm now on Vanomycin and have to taper down. This will take weeks. This SUCKS!
Knitting helps me get through this.
I'm knitting socks again. It's been a long time since I last knitted socks. The sock pattern is pretty easy.
Pattern: Wise Hilda's Basic Ribbed Sock
Yarn: Fable Print in the colour 159
Needles: US 1.5 dpns
Next up is a free pattern that I got from my favorite yarn store in Cambia, CA. Ball and Skein. The yarn was purchased there.
Pattern: Signs of Spring by Lisa R. Myers

I'm praying for healing and strength to get me through this nasty bacterial infection.
